Dancer | Performer

Julie has been performing professionally since 2007, commencing her career as a company member of DeTroye Dance Company based in Long Beach, California. From 2008-2009, She danced for Donald McKayle on his Etude Ensemble in California, performing nationally renowned repertory, the Rainbow Etude SoloTo ArtinaShake Your Life, and excerpts from Rainbow ‘Round My Shoulder and Songs of the Disinherited amongst others. While in California, Julie worked as a freelance dancer with Jodie Gates (ex Ballett Frankfurt, Germany & Joffrey Ballet, USA), and performed at Southern California’s award-winning Laguna Dance Festival. Since moving to the U.K. in 2009, Julie has worked with numerous U.K. contemporary dance companies and choreographers including Lynne Page, Flexer & Sandiland Company, Cathy Waller Company, James Cousins Company, Peter Darling & Ellen Kane, Avant Garde Dance Company, Duwane Taylor, Lucy Hind, Gemma Payne, Yukiko Masui,  Caroline Pope, Jonathan Lunn, Ben Wright (BGroup), Ludus Dance, Jorge Crecis, Avatara Ayuso’s AVA Dance Company, Anita Griffin, Pell Ensemble, CoDa Dance Company, Urja Thakore’s Pagrav Dance Company, Barrowland Ballet and more.

Julie also has experience working with established U.K. performing arts productions including performing in English National Opera’s renowned production of Madam Butterfly at the London Coliseum and David Freeman’s version at the Royal Albert Hall. She has also performed in Royal Opera House’s Die Zauberflote (2017 & 2019).
